Mega Buzz: October 29 - The Bones Honeymoon!

What can you tell me about the Bones honeymoon episode? — Kristy
ADAM:
As we previously teased, the getaway won't be all romance. "They're going to get bored just hanging around having sex and going to the beach," Emily Deschanel jokes about the pair getting swept up into a murder investigation. But the real reason the vacation is derailed is Brennan's competitive nature. "We discover a set of remains that Brennan does not have faith the coroner there will be able to solve," Deschanel says. "There's a bit of a rivalry with the medical examiner." And why does Booth get sucked in? "Brennan's books are very popular in Buenos Aires, so Agent Andy, who is the character based on Booth in her books is a real hero there," Deschanel teases. Guess he can't let down his fans!

November Sweeps Scoop on Bones Episodes: 'Honeymoon', 'Dam', 'Jury', 'Meat'

BONES

Monday, Nov. 4 at 8/7c: “The Nazi on the Honeymoon”
While honeymooning in Buenos Aires, Brennan and Booth just can’t get into vacation mode and instead decide to help Raphael Valenza (24‘s Joaquim De Almeida), a local detective and huge fan of Brennan’s books, solve the murder of a Nazi war criminal whose remains were found in a historic mass grave. Meanwhile, back in Washington D.C., Hodgins and Angela struggle to take care of Christine while Brennan and Booth are away.

Monday, Nov. 11: “The Dude in the Dam”
The Jeffersonian team investigates the murder of a failed male model, whose only source of income resulted from his sperm donations. When the team learns that he falsified records, they start to suspect anyone who was jilted by his contributions. Meanwhile, Brennan struggles with social niceties when she is drawn into a feud with fellow author Tess Brown (guest star Nora Dunn), and Hodgins gets in touch with his motherly instincts when he plays host to a fly larva.

Friday, Nov. 15 at 8/7c: “The Fury in the Jury” (Time Period Premiere)
Brennan is a juror in the trial of professional soccer player Peter Kidman (Against the Wall‘s Brandon Quinn), who is accused of murdering his wife. When she concludes that Kidman is not guilty, his best friend — and a key witness in the case — turns up dead. The Jeffersonian team then must work together to uncover the truth.

Friday, Nov. 22: “The Mystery in the Meat”
The Jeffersonian team investigates the murder of a food scientist whose remains were tossed in a meat grinder and mixed into cans of stew served in a school cafeteria. Meanwhile, Angela plans a post-wedding bachelorette party for Brennan, which gets crazier than intended.

Question: I’ll take anything on Bones‘ upcoming episodes. —Cassidy
Ausiello: If it turns out that this is the show’s final season, series creator Hart Hanson would ideally like to craft a four- to six-episode farewell arc. But that would require Fox giving them ample notice that the end was, in fact, near. “We would like to know tomorrow,” Hanson concedes. “We can pivot fairly quickly if need be, but it would be more satisfying if we were able to do a run of episodes to finish off the series.”

The 'Bones' Wedding: What Brennan, Booth, and the interns wore

Brennan (Emily Deschanel) once said she’d never wear white, but she broke that vow when she walked down the aisle to marry Booth (David Boreanaz) on the Oct. 21 episode of Bones, appropriately titled “The Woman in White.”
“It was one of those dresses where, when [Emily] put it on, it was like, ‘Ahh… that’s the one,” Bones costume designer Robin Lewis West told EW of the embroidered lace off-the-shoulder wedding gown. “She tried on a lot of dresses, but this one fit her beautifully.”
Before saying yes to the dress, West’s wardrobe team searched the racks at a number of L.A.-area bridal shops for a gown that would suit the style of the character, flatter the actress who plays her, and fit the specific guidelines laid out in the script. As for the groom, one great designer suit and a signature accessory, and he was ready to say “I do.”
Read on for all the details Brennan’s dress, Booth’s tux and the interns’ period costumes...

BONES: Karine Rosenthal on Writing the Booth and Brennan Wedding Episode, ‘The Woman in White’

bones-wedding-featured
BONES’ Booth and Brennan are now officially married!
It took 172 episodes, years of banter, a few other love interests, more disgusting bodies than any human should ever recall — and a last-minute fire to the church and case to solve — but Booth and Brennan swapped vows in Monday night’s episode, “The Woman in White.”
The hour was a big one for the series, and to make sure it was given its proper due, they brought back former BONES writer/producer, Karine Rosenthal (who was with the show from 2006 until 2012), to pen the long-awaited nuptials.
It’s no secret I absolutely adored the hour, and Rosenthal was gracious enough to hop on the phone to chat about returning to the series, what she did to prep for the episode, what didn’t make the cut, and more…

Question: Thanks for a great Bones post-mortem! Do you have any more information on upcoming plots? —Cassidy
Ausiello: Team Hathan (series creator Hart Hanson + EP Stephen Nathan = Team Hathan) shared that they’re currently “working on a half-dozen more traditional, non-event Bones episodes” to air after the honeymoon (Nov. 4) and bachelorette party (Nov. 11) installments as a way to reestablish the show’s equilibrium. “We front-loaded this season with [big episodes],” adds Hanson. “So we’ll have a run of fun, lighter-hearted romantic-crimedy Bones. And then we will start in with a couple more event-type episodes” — presumably involving The Ghost Killer.
Question: Any chance  Zooey Deschanel will attend Brennan’s bachelorette party on Bones? Margaret has to be there! —Georgia
Ausiello: She doesn’t and she won’t. And it’s because “it’s impossible to schedule her — she’s just busy all the time,” notes Nathan. “She’s in every scene of [New Girl].” Similarly, don’t expect Emily Deschanel to pop over to her sister’s neck of the woods to play Jess’ soon-to-arrive sis. “Emily works huge hours a week,” Hanson stresses. “And she has a baby to take care of too. I don’t see how she could possibly do it. It would be great [publicity] for us, but I just don’t think that there’s a human being in the world who could do it.”

What can you tell me about the Bones wedding? — Melinda
ADAM:
Would you be surprised if I told you that a case — and a series of wacky events, including a disaster at the church — almost prevents the ceremony from happening? Neither would the staff at the Jeffersonian, who start a pool to guess when (not if, when) Brennan will call off the nuptials. But the happy couple will make it down the aisle, to a very fitting song sung by Cyndi Lauper's Avalon Harmonia. Their vows nimbly incorporate nostalgic touches that will have fans reaching for the Kleenex.

Inside the Spoiler Room: October 14

Here comes the forensic anthropologist, all dressed in…well, you know the song. It’s time for a Bones wedding, guys! And after getting a chance to see an early cut of the long-awaited Oct. 21 episode, I can tell you it’s worth the wait. But don’t believe me. Believe David Boreanaz, who chatted up the episode when talking to Mandi Bierly last week and called the hour a tribute to the fans. “I wasn’t happy with the first draft of the vows,” he reveals. “I just wanted to have [it be] sort of a history lesson as to why they were getting married, how they were getting marred, why they did it and give back to the fans what they’ve been waiting for a long time.” The end result more than accomplishes that; I promise. I may have cried.
Something that might help you dry your tears, though: a peek at what comes after the nuptials! “Our honeymoon is hilarious,” says Boreanaz. “We go to Argentina…Booth just wants to kick back and have a beer and Brennan can’t do that. She doesn’t know how to relax.” What Brennan does know how to do is find a case, which is exactly what she does when the pair make an oddly-timed stop a morgue. “[Booth] wanted to go to the waterfall pools, but she says there’s fecal matter there so that didn’t happen,” he says. “She takes me to a morgue! A MORGUE! Where’s the fun in that? So [he's], like, in [his] tourist clothes, and there’s a murder and bones don’t connect. And then there we are — solving a crime in Argentina when I should be toes up and cold one.”
I. Can. Not. Wait.  (More from Boreanaz here, in case you missed it!)

David Boreanaz talks post-wedding 'Bones' and rumors it's his last season ('There's no truth to that')

Rumors that David Boreanaz is planning his exit from Fox’s Bones, which is now in its ninth season, have once again been greatly exaggerated. “There’s no truth to that,” he told EW Radio of the report that surfaced this week claiming he’s planning on this being his last season on the show.
In his talk with EW Morning Live hosts Dalton Ross and Jenna Morasca, he also addresses how the season will proceed after Booth (Boreanaz) and Brennan (Emily Deschanel) finally wed in the Oct. 21 episode. “Now you have more conflict than you think: I still have got to plan a bachelorette party that she never had. We have to go on our honeymoon. We got to deal with, really, how to live with each other as a married couple. So there’s a lot of conflict that we’re going to be bringing to the show. It’s gonna be fun,” he said. “The dynamics will change… and it will still be solving crimes.”

Do you have anything about the Bones wedding? —Tatiana
Well, it happens. That much I can confirm. But the path to holy matrimony is a bumpy one for B&B. Among the pre-ceremony obstacles: smoke, fire, death and a huge satchel of cash. But make no mistake, the episode is a wholly satisfying love letter to fans, that includes a performance from resident psychic Cyndi Lauper, a nifty call-back to Season 2 (specifically, this episode) and a ton of returning guest stars (including, yes, Parker.)
Might Stephen Fry be appearing at the Bones wedding? Gordon Gordon Wyatt is still one of my favorite recurring characters. –Tina
“While we wanted to include all of the Bones ‘family,’ scheduling conflicts and other commitments prevented some of our characters from making it to the wedding,” EP Stephen Nathan reports. “But we’ll send them all pictures.”

BONES: ‘The Woman in White’ You Ask, I Answer

BONES is gearing up for a big wedding in less than two weeks, and while there is oh so very much out there so far about the big day, after getting to watch the hour, I couldn’t resist answering a few of your questions.
As a reminder, I’m not going to spoil “The Woman in White.” I’m happy to tease, but there’s no way I’m going to ruin the experience for you…especially after it taking nine seasons for Booth and Brennan to get to this point.
So with that being said, here are some answers to your burning BONES questions (and a few of my own teases)…

Mega Buzz: October 8

So glad that Pelant is dead on Bones, but what's the deal with the other serial killer he kept yakking about? — Marie
ADAM:
According to executive producer Stephen Nathan, that other killer could very well be Booth and Brennan's next nemesis. (Guess Pelant will keep haunting these two from the grave!) But don't expect a repeat of the Pelant arc. "It's not going to be someone who is as visible," Nathan teases. "Pelant wanted to be known. The next person we meet, we won't necessarily meet. This is going to be somebody who values their anonymity far more than Pelant did."

David Tweets: Denies Quitting Rumors

Additionally, David also tweeted in response to the question, "will you return to Bones season 10?", "Yes, if it gets picked up." I think he deleted this response for the response above. I hope this clears up the rumors once and for all, but as a fan who has been around for a while, David quitting rumors come and go just about every other year! Ugh!

Ask Ausiello: October 8th - Wedding and the New Big Bad

Question: Still catching my breath after Monday’s Bones. Any scoop on what’s to come in future episodes? —Amelia
Ausiello: Save the date: Booth and Brennan will tie the knot on Monday, Oct. 21. Who wants to be my plus-1?!
Question: As a reward for acing my bone identification exam, I believe I deserve some scoop on the show that inspired me to do so well, Bones! What’s going to go on with the new Big Bad? —Rebecca
Ausiello: Here’s what exec producer Stephen Nathan was willing to divulge: “We are creating a new killer who loves anonymity as much as Pelant loved being pursued.”
